Makes 2 cocktails:
The Goods:
Equipment:
Cocktail shaker with lid strainer
2 martini glasses
extra metal strainer
For the martini’s:
3 oz vodka
3 oz cashew milk/ or plant milk of choice
1 oz chai simple syrup
3 cups ice
For the chai simple syrup:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp cardamom
1/2 tsp nutmeg
The Method:
First step is to create the chai simple syrup. In a small sauce pan add all chai simple syrup ingredients and turn on low medium heat.
On a slow and go simmer, stir the mixture with a rubber spatula consistently for about 3-5 minutes until the sugar fully dissolves into water. Remove from heat, set aside, and can store in sanitized glass jar for 1-2 weeks.
Chai time! Have nearby a cocktail shaker with a lid strainer, extra metal strainer, martini glasses, and ice.
Into the shaker, add vodka, milk, chai simple syrup, and lastly the ice. Cap the lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Now the tricky part, uncap the lid, and using both hands, one with the shaker, and one with the extra strainer, very carefully double strain the cocktail into both martinis evenly. Hop back and forth over each martini for about 3 seconds as you strain until empty. Viola! But wait!
Take a pinch of cinnamon and tap it over each martini through the extra strainer and it will create a perfect splatter of cinnamon over the top. Serve immediately and with a friend!
